Hi people, today I am going to talk about how to choose your own foundation shade. First of all, this is only my way of finding foundation shade that works for me. First thing first, in Singapore, the foundation shade rand is really limited as consider to the same product overseas. For example in US, the same foundation may have 9 shades but here in Singapore, we only have 5 shades, therefore, it is actually more difficult to find one shade that really suit and fit you. So, just keep that in mind.

First step: You will need to know what undertones is your skin. Some people have yellow undertone, some pink and some neutral. Undertones might not really show for all people and that some people do not really care, but then if you are someone that really want foundation that is matching to your skin tone, it is recommended to get something that matches even with your undertones so that you don't get weird tones of skin tones.

Next step: Try out the tester that are in the stores on your jawline or your face directly and not on your hands. People tend to try the tester on the back of their hands and that is like totally wrong. Your hands and your face do not have the same shade. Normally we are one to even two shades lighter on our hand than our face, so if you are someone that tries your foundation on your hand and you just can't get the perfect shade for your face, my recommendation is stop trying it on your hand.

If you are someone that buys your makeup from Sephora, for urban decay, they actually have a ruler at their rack which is there to help you to select your foundation shade which I think is really thoughtful of them. If you are someone that wants to go for high-end makeup foundation at any of the counters, do get the help of the sales person there. If you are someone that always shop at the drugstore, I recommend going to SASA if you really do not know what to do and how to choose, there are sales personal and even makeup artiste there to help you.
