Base hauls and reviews.
Sorry for the late updates, I went to Malaysia KL for a few days and wasnt able to blog there as all my blogging materials are all here at home in Singapore. I will update on my steals on KL. And ya, they are really steals that I have got there.
Now getting back to business. Base products. I will be sharing 2 base products, one foundation and one BB.
First starting off with foundation, its the
Bourjois 123 perfect foundation.
When I saw this foundation at SASA, I was really really excited. If you all do not know anything about this brand, it is actually a UK brand and this brand is a popular drugstore brand and they have a few lines of foundation and other than this line, there is another healthy line that is available here in Singapore.
I got the shade 51 which is light vanilla, it is their lightest tone and it really fits me. I would think that this foundation will not suit people with darker skin tone as there are only 5 - 7 shades in all the foundation line in this brand, which really limited the color tones. There are 3 things that are really good about this foundation.
First of all are the claims printed in the bottle,
There are 3 correcting pigments that are to be said to make your skin to have 0 imperfections.
Now, I think that they do correct my skin tones with my dark circle and redness, but they did not really cover up everything and thus for me I would not really give it a very high for their correcting power but I do give them credit for correcting a lot more than other foundation. I believe that if you have clearer and better skin as compare to me, the foundation will be able to correct all your imperfections and you do not need anymore concealer above this foundation.
Secondly, it is that the shades of this foundation. Although the color shades of this foundation is very very neutral. A lot of foundation that are in the market are either in yellow undertone or pink undertone and it is really beautifully neutral which to me reduce the dewy look but yet not too matte for me. So that's another plus point for the foundation.
Lastly, the texture of the foundation. Seriously, I am amazed and surprised with melting texture. It does not feel like any liquid foundation and also does not feel like any cream base foundation too. Its just special melting texture. It felt really hydrating and it does not melt off my face throughout the day and I really love this foundation for this.
Here are 2 down point of this foundation, it is that it only have SPF of SPF 10 which is really quite pathetic as consider other foundations of other brands have at least SPF 20, but for me, it isn't really a problem as I always apply sun screen on my face before foundation. But if you are one of those who are not into putting on sun screen before foundation, this product will not be for you as it does not provide good sun protecting power.
The second and the last down point is that the foundation sets really quickly, thus once you put the product on your face, you will have to work it in really really quickly before it sets and there will be no way that you will be able to work with the product other than removing it and reapply the product.
Overall, I am really pleased and happy with this product and I think I will continue using it and even repurchasing it.
The next product that I will review on will be the new Maybelline Clear Smooth BB stick.
I was really really excited when this product came out and bought it on the first day of launch, but I would have to say that I am really disappointed with this product.

Lets go through the plus point of the product. There are 2 plus points to this product,
First, this product have a SPF of SPF 21 PA+++ which is really good sun protection. And I think that it is just perfect as I think that any sun protection in any base products that is higher than 35 would be a mistake as the product will not look good anymore. So this is a number 1 plus point for this product.
The second plus point will be the finishing look of the product. This product gives a really dewy finish which I would think that it is quite good for the warmer weather.
Now, the disappointing point.
First,
the application. For this product, you are suppose to swipe the product on your face and then blend the product onto the whole face. To me, it is a little unhygienic as I always apply sun screen and primer on my face before my base and this product isn't an easy product to blend into the skin. And thus the application time is too long for me.
Next, this product actually claimed to be Shine Free and gives you Shine and Oil Free finish for up to 12 hours, which I think is bullshit. As all of you know that I have combination sensitive skin, thus my T-zone is really really oily and this product just do not work on me. I get oily after maybe 2 hours and the whole BB will breakdown after maybe 8 hours with a primer. This is really really a big down side of this product and a great big disappointment to me. I would say that this product will maybe suit people with normal or slightly oilier skin more than the oily skin.
Lastly, for me, I would think that this would be a down side for all BB products but still I would mention it here. There are only 2 shades to this product with is 01 fresh the one that I have and 02 Natural. So people with really darker skin tone, this product is really not for you as you will never be able to get your shade here.
